Orion Publishers launch the Murder Room

The Orion Publishing Group today announced the launch of THE MURDER ROOM, a dedicated website which makes out-of-print and hard to find classic crime novels available as eBooks. The website was launched today, 14 September 2012, at Bloody Scotland crime festival.

THE MURDER ROOM brings together some of the finest writers of crime and thriller fiction – names like James M. Cain, Anthony Price, Jim Thompson and George V. Higgins, whose books have inspired a new generation of writers. It launches with one hundred and fifty titles, with another hundred available before the end of the year.

THE MURDER ROOM is a meeting place for crime fans, an opportunity to discuss, recommend and discover a wealth of classic crime novels available to buy as eBooks - many of which have not been accessible for a generation. The website will also contain news, features, competitions and interviews with contemporary novelists talking about the writers that have inspired them.

In the twenty years since the Orion Publishing Group was founded, it has established itself as the home of crime, publishing luminaries such as Ian Rankin, Elmore Leonard, Michael Connelly and Harlan Coben. In building this reputation Orion has looked to the future, discovering exciting new authors, but also embraced the legacy of vintage crime fiction, with its acclaimed Crime Masterworks series. THE MURDER ROOM now brings together past, present and future masters of crime, together under one exciting roof.
