Lunch à la Montalbano

MONTALBANO LITERARY LUNCHES AT BOCCA DI LUPO

This February, Pan Macmillan will be celebrating Italy’s most famous literary export, Andrea Camilleri, and his best-selling Inspector Montalbano detective novels through a series of lunchtime book clubs.  Partnering with acclaimed Italian restaurant, Bocca di Lupo, we will be hosting eight bespoke lunches inspired by eight Camilleri novels.

Jacob Kenedy, Bocca di Lupo co-owner and chef: “Every time I read a Montalbano book (which is as often as they are written), I get so hungry for the Sicilian specialities that share a special place in my and the foodie sleuth’s heart. I thought a one-off series of book club lunches would be the best way to relieve this hunger, and alleviate the winter gloom.”

Each lunchtime book club will be introduced by an avid Montalbano fan including chefs, Rowley Leigh (Le Café Anglais) and Fergus Henderson (St. John); restaurant critic, Tom Parker Bowles; Italian socialite, Nancy Dell'Olio; and Camilleri’s UK editor, Maria Rejt.

Andrea Camilleri is one of Italy’s most famous contemporary writers.  His books have sold over 65 million copies worldwide.  The Inspector Montalbano series has been translated into thirty-two languages and was adapted for Italian television and screened on BBC4.  Andrea Camilleri lives in Rome.

Located in the heart of Soho, award-winning restaurant Bocca di Lupo is the first independent restaurant venture by Jacob Kenedy with partner Victor Hugo, which opened in late 2008. The restaurant’s buzzing vibrant atmosphere combined with award winning menu resulted in massive popularity, which has continued since launch.
