New UK Crime festival DARK STORMY Announces its full May 2014 Launch weekend line up

Dark Stormy is a brand new UK Crime festival, serving up a wicked selection of book, film, music & theatre events.

We launch in May 2014, in partnership with Brighton Festival, Brighton Fringe, and Picturehouse Cinemas.

And we’re thrilled to announce that our launch weekend programme will include authors Peter James, Sophie Hannah, James Naughtie, Natalie Haynes, Stella Rimington, Tony Parsons, Lindsey Davies, Tom Rob Smith and Liam Fox.

They will be appearing as part of an exciting range of discussions and events, including cinema screenings of classic crime movies such as Brighton Rock, Introduced by crime genre expert, Barry Forshaw, and Layer Cake, Introduced by its screenwriter and author J J Connolly complete with tea cake!

Dark & Stormy’s aim is to appeal, not only to the legions of readers who keep crime writers on top of the bestseller lists, but to the huge audiences who flock to Breaking Bad On TV, Kick Ass at the cinema, Grand Theft Auto on PlayStations, and The Curious Incident Of the Dog In the Night--‐Time In the West End.

Our 23rd--‐25^th May 2014 Launch weekend is packed with incredible authors, screenwriters, actors, directors and musicians, in a variety of discussions, interviews, screenings & performances at Brighton’s biggest and best venues.

From 2015 onwards, we’ll be programming an even wider variety of events, adding thrilling new voices and rising stars to the mix
