MacLehose Press released
the title and the cover design of the continuation by the Swedish author David
Lagercrantz of Stieg Larsson’s Millennium series. Released on 27 August 2015, part four of Stieg Larsson's Millennium series: The Girl in the Spider's Web will be written by David Lagercrantz:
The novel will be
called The Girl in the Spider’s Web.
The text of the novel, now complete, is embargoed until its
worldwide and simultaneous publication on August 27, 2015. No
copies for review will be available in advance of that date. The novel has been
acquired for translation by 38 publishers.
The British
publisher Christopher MacLehose has said: “David
Lagercrantz is not only a distinguished novelist, he is an exceptional
storyteller. His Millennium novel brilliantly prolongs the story of
Lisbeth Salander and of Mikael Blomqvist."
Erland and Joakim
Larsson of the Stieg Larsson Estate have said: “By letting David Lagercrantz write his own Millennium novel
we keep alive the characters and the universe Stieg Larsson created.”
David Lagercrantz
will be in London in May, and at the Hay-on-Wye Festival, to talk about Fall of Man in Wilmslow, his novel
of the death of Alan Turing. This book and The Girl in the Spider’s Web are translated from the Swedish
by George Goulding.
Lagercrantz is an
acclaimed author and journalist. In his years on the Stockholm DailyExpressen he covered a number of major crime
stories. He wrote the internationally-bestselling I Am Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the footballer’s “autobiography” which has
been published in 30 languages and sold in millions of copies.
The first three
books in the series are being reissued on 4 June 2015.
