On 3 September 2026, Hodder &
Stoughton will publish a classic hardback edition of IT by Stephen King, with a
new introduction by The Duffer Brothers to celebrate its fortieth anniversary.
The Duffer Brothers (filmmakers of hit Netflix series Stranger Things) are
long-time Stephen King fans and they share in their new introduction the impact
IT has had on them: ‘We’re not sure any work of art has rocked us as deeply, or
shaped our lives and our storytelling, the way IT has’.
There will also be a limited print run
of a deluxe special edition that will feature an exclusive jacket, die-cut red
slipcase, bespoke endpaper design and a printed edge. These will be numbered
and strictly limited to 1,010 copies, available on 26 November and shipping

Stephen King is the author of more than seventy
books, all of them worldwide bestsellers. He is the author of many classic
bestselling titles, including Carrie, The Shining and IT which was adapted into
the highest grossing horror film of all time. King is the recipient of The
Sunday Times Award for Literary Excellence 2022, the 2020 Audio Publishers
Association Lifetime Achievement Award, the 2018 PEN America Literary Service
Award, the 2014 National Medal of Arts, and the 2003 National Book Foundation
Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters. He lives in Maine,
with his wife, novelist Tabitha King.
