A new historical fiction
festival in Edinburgh, the home of Sir Walter Scott, and of history
masters Stevenson and Conan Doyle is due to take place from 12 April 2013 - 15 April 2013 at Summerhall Edinburgh’s award winning Arts Center.
Covering four days, there will be a wide range of talks and films. The talks will cover such topics as Walter Scott and Napoleon, Witches, Pirates, Highwaywomen.... and Shakespeare, moral issues in historical fiction and Dickens. Some of the films due to be shown include The Leopard (1963) and The Charge of the Light Brigade (1968). There is also a Hugh Buchanan exhibition that will be on display for the whole of the festival.
The speakers include Allan Massie, Owen Dudley-Edwards, Celia Rees and Andrew Williams to name a few.
